KEITH TULLOCH

Hunter Valley, NSW

Available VIC, NSW, ACT & QLD

Keith Tulloch is, of course, a member of the Tulloch family, which has played a leading role in the Hunter Valley for over a century. As a fourth-generation winemaker, Keith learned about the land and the vine in his youth, working alongside his father, Dr. Harry Tulloch, and gaining experience through winemaking roles at iconic Hunter Valley producers, including Hungerford Hill, Lindeman’s, and Rothbury Estate.

Keith and Amanda founded Keith Tulloch Wine in 1997, first producing "The Kester" Shiraz in 1998, following decades of experience in the Hunter Valley and abroad. Hunter Semillon and Chardonnay soon followed, with the quality of these releases praised by James Halliday, who wrote: “I cannot remember being more impressed with an initial release of wines than I was with those under the Keith Tulloch label. The only problem is the small scale of their production, like that of Jeffrey Grosset in his early days.

There is the same almost obsessive attention to detail, the same almost ascetic intellectual approach, the same refusal to accept anything but the best.” With old-vine resources on some of Pokolbin’s best terroir, Keith’s vineyard has been rated among 'Australia’s Top 50 Vineyards' by Young Gun of Wine every year since 2021 and was ranked #38 in 'Top Wineries of Australia' by The Real Review in 2023. The vineyard and winery are undergoing Sustainable Winemaking Australia certification and have been certified carbon neutral since 2019.
