2017 Buera (amber)

Tedo is the only winemaker bottling the buera grape commercially and this is the first vintage. Exotic, spicy and riveting – sandalwood, incense, musk, white pepper, dried stone fruits all in the fold and pleasant, powdery tannins. Only 250 bottles made. Don't delay.

It’s a winter rose, let’s say. Lighter than red, heavier than rose. The family vineyard has been farmed since 1985, originally selling grapes, now making wine. All organic, au naturale. Such a good wine. Superb texture, big impact but light on its feet, epic tannins, squeaky feel, just ripe cherries, char, rose hip tea, bergamot, dried herbs. Long, fresh and just straight up delicious. An amazing feel to this wine, so detailed and so generally delicious. Savoury as. - Mike Bennie for The Wine Front
