Domaine Bruno Sorg
Eguisheim, Alsace
2019 Riesling
Ripe, aromatic boquet bursting with notes of sweet ripe peaches, wildflowers, ginger and citrus zest. The expressive aromas bely a surprisingly dry palate, though still generous - a moderate concentration of white peaches, dominant lemon curd, plus notes of grapefruit and lime. Classically dry with a tickle of white pepper towards the end, and mineral acidity gliding throughout.
2018 Edelzwicker
1L bottle. Classic lightweight but super textural blend with soft acidity and peachy ripeness. Predominantly Pinot Auxerrois with a little Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer. No vintage stated as this style can be a multi vintage blend, but this is 100% from 2018. Lightly aromatic nose with lemon pith, pear and linden flower cordial. Rich soft texture, super slippery. Subtle white and yellow fruits with white peach nectar, nashi pear, delicate white and pink florals and rich spice. A little pithy phenolics help balance a dry finish. Great value!
2017 Sylvaner ‘Vielles Vignes’
If you haven’t tried Sylvaner before, there is no better first glass than Bruno Sorg! The majority of the fruit comes from vines averaging 40-50 years old, with the rest of the fruit coming from very old original plantings thought to be 80-90 years old. Unusually expressive for this variety; aromas leap from the glass, filled with white florals, white peaches and pear fruits, and a touch of spice. The palate is rich and textural, layered with ripe citrus notes, sweet juicy pear, plum and apples. Light and tangy, fresh and generous with its fruit flavours, though by no means sweet. The ‘Vielles Vignes’ means ‘old vines’, and the quality of wine produced is testament to that.
2017 Pinot Blanc
100% true Pinot Blanc. A reserved nose, though aromas of white spices and ripe peaches emerge. The palate is fresh and lively, with a slippery nectar texture and citrus-driven acidity. Flavours of apricot, peaches and ripe pears are present throughout, but gentle tannins keep the balance fairly savoury. A dry pithy line closes on a long finish.

2017 Riesling ‘Pfersigberg’ Grand Cru
Riesling from the ‘Pfersigberg’ site in Eguisheim, one of the richest and most complex soils on the Bruno Sorg estate. A delicate nose of lemon and lime blossom, powdered citrus sherbet and a stoney minerality. The medium-bodied palate is outstandingly concentrated with sweet ripe grapefruits and peach stones. A long, stony minerality lingers on the finish. This is a pure, finely structured wine with powerful concentration in fruit flavours and great acidity - all the elements that indicate fantastic potential from a great vintage. Add this one to the cellar, quick!

2016 Pinot Gris
Aromas of delicate pear, stone fruit and spice tones present with hints of malted beer. The palate is open and expressive, showing the fruit indicated in the aromas and some pithy drying notes too. An easily accessible palate for the longtime Alsatian fan or newbie alike: pristine and bone dry, but generous. Very easy to drink!
2016 Pinot Noir
The colour is very pale, hinting at the light and delicate flavours to come. Aromas of summer berries and ripe, red cherries lead to a palate that follows suit in flavours. A light to medium bodied wine, dry and well balanced between savoury minerality and juicy red fruits. Serve your glass lightly chilled to get the full effect.
