Praxis
2024 Praxis Sparkling Riesling
“We talk about Praxis wines being ‘drink now’, and this bubbly méthode traditionnelle beauty is exactly what we’re talking about. Fresh, fun and surprisingly moreish, the nose is all crisp orchard fruit, sweet citrus, and honeysuckle florals, while the palate—with a soft, extremely effervescent mousse, aided by six months on lees—balances a taut, lingering acidity and tart, apple-y fruit notes against a ripe hint of nashi pear sweetness.” – Moorilla Estate
2024 Praxis Sauvignon Blanc
“Very very pale, and a very very traditional Sauvignon Blanc. A surprisingly rich nose gives plenty of classic Sauvignon notes—nettle, snow pea, gooseberry and some herbaceous grassiness. A sip is rewarded with some nice dry grip and plenty of zest, with crisp green apple and some richer pineapple coming later.”
– Moorilla Estate
2023 Praxis Chardonnay Musqué
“From the floral, light-fruited nose onward, this one is a peach. Suggestions of honeysuckle and jasmine (with some richer musk notes) lead the nose, backed by stonefruit and pear drops. There’s a lightness to the palate, but the ripe backbone of peach and pineapple anchor it superbly. Finishes dry, with a hint of orange blossom. A stellar vintage.” – Moorilla Estate
2023 Praxis Pinot Noir
Pretty, plummy and pale in the glass, this is a classic Praxis: bright, lifted fruit galore, offset by some florals and spice on the nose. The palate sits at the lighter end of medium-bodied, with redcurrant-y acidity, ripe plum notes, and black pepper spiciness. The fruit dries a bit towards the finish—carried by soft, plushy tannin—but lingers nicely.
Muse
2018 Muse Extra Brut
93 Points – New Goodwin MW, JamesSuckling.com
“An aperitif-style sparkling, we pick our fruit—chardonnay particularly—early, looking for the lively acid and freshness that’ll stand up to more than four years on lees (and potentially many years in the cellar after that).” – Moorilla Estate
2021 Muse Riesling
“A classic Moorilla riesling. Already developing the flinty, funky, bituminous wafts on the nose that make this wine so special over time, it also boasts ample fruit (lime, green apples) and a vanilla-blossom lightness. Palate-weight is good, with a tight, almost-oily richness awash with yellow peach, more lime and a gentle honey-sweetness.” – Moorilla Estate
2020 Muse Chardonnay
“An interesting vintage (2020 was very slow, resulting in great intensity of flavour) finds its legs here, with the richness of the fruit— tinned peach, fresh greengages, delicate citrus—balanced by a good chunk of toasty spiced oak and baked-good character. The palate is pleasantly tight, with fresh acidity and minerality driving to a moreish lime-sherbet finish.” – Moorilla Estate
2018 Muse Pinot Noir
92 Points – “A juicy, forward and ready to please pinot noir, with no dearth of flavor, sap or crunch. Sarsaparilla, red cherry, porcini and autumnal leaves, earthen and savory and draped across the succulent finish. Mid-weighted by virtue of the flavor intensity and mouthfeel, but with a slight chill this will lighten up further.” Ned Goodwin MW, JamesSuckling.com
2018 Muse Syrah
“The aim with our Syrah is to show the finesse and richness that’s possible in a cool-climate Shiraz, and this is a real humdinger: a refined, ripe nose of gentle fruit (jostaberry, fresh cherry) and spice (black and white pepper, cloves) presages a sublime, velvety palate with soft, fine tannin and a sustained finish.” – Moorilla Estate
2016 Muse Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc
“A monster from the Black Forest. Deep cassis, cocoa and bramble, coupled with leather (both normal and fruit), sweet liquorice and some lighter, green capsicum and mint notes. The palate structure is chalky, even and quite dry, which bodes well for those who like something a bit more rigorous now, as well as if you’re happy to let it soften a little in the cellar.” – Moorilla Estate
2024 Muse Pinot Gris
A very approachable, intriguing Pinot Gris—clear, pale and bright in the glass, the nose leads with white peaches and nectarines, bundled up with honeysuckles, jasmine and a bit of lifted citrus. The fruit continues on the palate, which is dry and long, driven by medium acid, more stonefruit and a bit of sweeter apple. Structure is good, with some nicely integrated phenolics and minerality. A fantastic food wine
Cloth Label
2009 Cloth Label Late Disgorged
96 Points – “The mousse and bead are top notch. Really complex aromas of toast, meringue, honey, baked apple and nougat. Super sophisticated on the palate, white stone-fruit, grilled nuts, pastry and ripe apple. Long, textured and creamy, this is top class, delicious fizz.” —Aaron Brasher, The Real Review
2017 Cloth Label White
“A leaner, fresher vintage than usual (from a hot, dry year), the 2016 starts very delicately on the nose: lychee, mandarin peel, and fresh-picked white nectarines. The palate has a crunchy, clean brightness, balanced neatly by some hints of the vineyard’s textbook burnt-butter character and a suggestion of jasmine. The acidity is linear, lingering, and—coupled with the richness of the palate and extra tannin given by some time on skins—will allow the wine to mature for a long, long time.” – Moorilla Estate
2017 Cloth Label Red
“This vintage is a touch lighter than the last, showing many of the qualities you’d normally see in an LDR, with a bit more character—a Medium Dry Red, perhaps. Red-maroon hues on pouring foreshadow the nose: tomato leaf, blood plum and cardamom.”
– Moorilla Estate
