2018 Gullyview Riesling

95 Points - “Un-fined, unfiltered, textural riesling of unique personality from Clare Valley – a real side step from cookie cutter/regional staples. This label, from generational grape-grower-winemaker brothers, is absolutely soaring. Some of the most interesting, delicious wines in Australia are emerging, and the reinvention and sexing up of Clare Valley is apparent. While this wine isn’t in the bandwidth of Clare riesling stalwarts, it goes a long way speaking about complexity, approachability and personality potential.

Hazy pale gold in colour. A beautiful wine of powdery texture, inward juiciness, great length, tight and taut feel. There’s lemon-lime meets ginger scents, some similarity to the restrained flavours, but it’s all about that texture and drive for me. 2021 Pigato Vermentino

Vermentino on skins – peach, iced tea, Cotties orange cordial. Super refreshing!

Hand-harvested and sorted in vineyard, natural ferment in open top steel fermenters, hand-plunged twice daily. Settled off gross lees for 7 days, aged in steel for 7 months. Unfined and unfiltered. Textural and delicious! A benchmark for this style.

 

2021 Watervale Riesling

Riesling but not as you know it – aromatic with texture and spice.

Fruit from a few different vineyards, including the 99-year-old Parish Vineyard next door. Hand-harvested and sorted in vineyard, natural ferment in steel and ceramic amphora for two months. Aged in stainless steel on lees for 8 months.

 

2021 La Korse Red Wine

Corsican inspired – red fruits, light and easy drinking.

37% Sangiovese, 29% Grenache, 25% Sciacarello, 5% Malbec, 4% Carignan – a blend providing a great balance of perfume, flavour, and structure. Hand harvested, 50% whole berries retained. Natural ferment in open top steel fermenters, hand-plunged twice daily. On skins for two weeks, aged in stainless steel for ten months. Unfined and unfiltered.

 

2021 Mammolo Sciacarello

Light and bright red – aromatic, spicy and super acidic.

Picked by hand in early March 2021 from the Vivian and Watervale vineyards. Two weeks on skins, aged in Slavonian oak foudre for 6 months then racked to steel for another three. Soft, bright, and crisp.

 

2020 Brothers Koerner Riesling

Pure Watervale Riesling- lemon & lime with soft mineral textures.

Hand-picked in February 2021, cold settled off dirt and heavy solids for 3 days. Fermented at 18 degrees for 3 weeks in stainless steel before aging on fine lees for 4 months. The Riesling opens up with clean crisp fruit, freshly cut lime and green apple, and a nice leesy textural component. Relatively soft textured and well-integrated acid throughout. This is unmistakably Riesling, with more green apple on the palate and a zingy finish to bring it home.

 

2021 Brothers Koerner Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris - slight blush appearance, stone-fruits and soft mouthfeel.

From the Macclesfield vineyard in the Adelaide Hills. On skins for two days lending a delicate pink tint. Fermented in Slavonian oak Foudre for 3 weeks, aged in stainless steel for 3 months on fine lees. Unfined.

 

2021 Brothers Koerner Vermentino

Made with fruit from the Gullyview Vineyard in Watervale. Hand harvested and sorted, 18 hours on skins. Crushed, destemmed and cold settled for 24 hours. Fermented in 600l Slavonian Oak Demi Muid and 675 ceramic egg for 3 months. The boys love a Vermentino - and this one is clean, fresh and approachable. Great value!

 

2019 Brothers Koerner Rosé

Classic dry Rose- savoury, crunchy and fine boned.

90 % Merlot, 10% Chardonnay from the Gower vineyard in Lenswood. Just 3 hours on skins, fermented in Slavonian oak Foudre and Demi-moud for 4 weeks then aged in stainless steel for 5 months. Notes of green herb, smokiness, and sour-sweet fruit.

 

2021 Brothers Koerner Pinot Noir

Distinctly Pinot- light bodied, pretty, crisp and fresh.

Fruit from a combination of vineyards. Hand-harvested, destemmed retaining 50% whole berries with no whole bunch. Natural ferment in open top steel fermenters, hand plunged twice daily. On skins for 10 days and aged in stainless steel for 4 months. Light and juicy, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries over earthy notes.
