2021 La Signorina

44% Riesling, 38% Gewürztraminer, 17% Pinot Grigio, 1% Pinot Bianco. “A wine inspired by my ancestors in North-East Italy, it shows alluring lime, citrus, pear, rose and ginger perfume and a palate that is saline, textural and minerally with powdery tannins.” – Casa Freschi

2021 Riesling

“17 years of vine age coupled with a magnificent 2021 season compelled me to bottle a small amount of 100% Riesling separately for the first time. 5 clones, 2 from Alsace and 3 from Germany. The fruit was whole-bunch pressed and the juice transferred directly to used French barriques. 100% of the wine was barrel fermented in seasoned French oak barriques and aged on its yeast lees for 9 months, with malolactic fermentation inhibited. This is a dry, textural Riesling with mouth-watering acidity and minerality. A special parcel from a special site!” - Casa Freschi

2023 Pinot Noir

“This is our third bottling of Pinot Noir from one of the best Pinot Noir vineyards in the Adelaide Hills. Its high altitude, easterly aspect and well-drained mineral-rich soils produce richly fragrant, full flavoured wines with purity and good natural acidity..” – Casa Freschi

2023 La Signora

58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Nebbiolo, 9% Syrah, 9% Malbec. Fruit was hand-picked into 8kg crates, 100% destemmed & fermented spontaneously in small, open top fermenters, and hand-plunged for 21 days. It is then pressed directly into old French barriques and matured on its lees for 14 months. It was then racked by gravity and hand-bottled unfined and unfiltered. Complex, elegant, medium bodied with delicious old-vine lingering flavour, and full, chalky tannins, it is a La Signora with a long future ahead of it.

2015 Profondo

90 Points – Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2019

39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Shiraz, 22% Malbec. “This is our ninth bottling in 16 years of Profondo, our old vine cuvee produced only when the result is of exceptional quality and with the potential for long-term cellaring.” – Casa Freschi

2021 Nebbiolo

The 2021 vintage began with good winter rainfall but an early spring frost reduced the yield by 75%. Flowering conditions were favourable and the summer was very mild and without extremes. Small amounts of timely rain in January and February helped the vines remain healthy through the cool ripening period. The resultant fruit showed wonderful depth and complexity of flavour, good natural acidity and low alcohols.

2023 Ragazzi Nebbiolo

Preceding the 2022 season our Nebbiolo vineyard had endured spring frosts in 2018, 2019 and 2021. Unfortunately another severe one occurred in the spring leading up to the 2022 harvest wiping out 80% of the crop. Also, the third year in a row with a “La Nina” weather pattern (bringing cooler and wetter conditions) usually bodes well for nebbiolo which enjoys a long, extended ripening in the cooler months of autumn. This was indeed the case for the miniscule amount of fruit remaining on the vine. The resultant Ragazzi cuvee shows wonderful aromatics of rose, raspberry, cranberry, hops and a lively, textural and savoury palate.
