2016 Bourgogne Blanc

100% Chardonnay farmed biodynamically and harvested by hand. Despite being bottled with no fining or filtration the wine is virtually crystal clear, with sparking golden hue to the yellow straw colour. The vibrant but deep inviting colour is enough to sell you the wine. Winemaker Pierre Fenals is fastidious about clarity because he knows that we “drink firstly with our eyes”. The nose is unmistakably Chardonnay: rich golden peach and ripe citrus fruits, warm butter with roasted hazelnuts, all enlivened by the classic underlying minerality of Burgundy. The mouth is more tightly wound than the nose suggests. Sparkling minerality and crystalline acidity charge the palate before the gentle flavours of butter, sour yellow plum, quince and grapefruit pith build to balance the tartness. The combination of the structural acidity and intense concentration is almost confronting leaving the palate tingling, alive and wanting more.

2016 Maranges

Pinot Noir from a parcel named “Les Crevêches” where the vines are over 60 years old. Aged on lees for 14 months in 3-year-old oak barrels. Black berry fruits on the nose, deep in colour. Full and elegant on the palate.

2016 Corton Charlemagne

Chardonnay from 85-year-old vines. The wine is clear and bright, with a silvery shine in the glass. The nose is nuanced, with florals and honey. Delicate, pure and fresh on the palate, with dainty aromas lending lightness but the overall finish remains tight.
